Summary: Статья посвящена становлению и развитию системы охраны материнства и детства в советской Украине в период новой экономической политики. Анализируются нормативные акты, регулирующие деятельность отделов охраны материнства и детства на местах. На основании источников раскрываются основные направления деятельности указанных органов. Особое внимание уделяется анализу состояния сети городских и сельских материнских и детских учреждений, их взаимодействию с государственными и общественными органами. Определяется роль школьно-санитарной организации в сохранении здоровья подрастающего поколения. Характеризуется состояние акушерской помощи и родовспоможения в городах и селах УССР.The article is devoted to the formation and development of mother-and-child health institutions in Soviet Ukraine during the New Economic Policy. The Normative Acts are analysed regulating the activities of Local mother-and-child Boards of Health. Based on the sources the main directions of these bodies’ activities are revealed. Special attention is paid to the analysis of the network of urban and rural mother-and-child institutions, their co-operation with government and public bodies. The role of school sanitary organization in preserving the health of the rising generation is defined. State of obstetric assistance and maternity care in cities and villages of the Ukranian SSR are characterized.
